We at KB Recycling are working hard to promote a culture of sustainability in the Texas Panhandle by making educational materials available to the community and providing a convenient curbside pickup service in order to lend a hand towards the protection and preservation of our environment.

Changes over time have painted a vivid picture of the environmental impact that we have had on this planet. From the piles of trash dumped daily at the local landfill to the millions of plastic bottles that wash into the ocean every day, our waste is taking a toll. Recycling is the simplest and most affordable way to reduce your households or businesses environmental impact. To do our part, KB has partnered with schools, businesses, and households across the Texas Panhandle to provide a clean, convenient, and easy way to recycle.

By offering our clients a variety of convenient, affordable, and personalized recycling solutions, we at KB hope to foster a new level of environmental awareness and activism throughout the community. How We Work:

Here at KB we want to make recycling an easy and affordable choice for you and your business. Throughout our three step process we will work with you to design a clean, convenient recycling solution complete with new bins, instructional information and a detailed pickup schedule. Currently we are able to process plastics (#1 and #2 plastics, and plastic bags), aluminum cans, paper (newspaper, office paper, magazines, and junk mail) and cardboard.

Step 1: Free Recycling Consultation

·         Once you contact us, we will get back to you as quickly as possible to set up your free consultation and/or business walk through.

·         For residential clients this can be as simple as a short telephone conversation from which we will be able to determine which service (weekly or bi-weekly) will work best for you.

·         For Businesses, one of the boys at KB will visit your facility to discuss your recycling needs and determine the content and quantity of recyclable materials generated in the workplace.

o   Next, we will take your establishment’s layout into careful consideration, studying the general floor plan and high traffic areas to determine where recycling bins are needed most.

o   Finally, we will hit the think tank and begin drafting a personalized solution for your business.

          Step 2: Recycling Solutions

·         After considering all of the above information, we will design multiple recycling solutions from which you will be able to choose what fits you or your company’s unique needs best.

·         Once you have decided on a solution, KB Recycling will provide you with all of the collection bins, bags, instructions, and signage to make your transition to recycling as simple and effortless as possible.

         Step 3: Recyclables Pick up

·         Once you have the equipment, it’s time to start recycling! We will be by on the next scheduled pick up date to collect and transport your recyclables for reprocessing and eventually reuse.

History:

KB Recycling, LLC was founded by 23 year old college student Chris Bunnett, in 2008. KB was started to provide a convenient curbside recycling service for schools, businesses, and households across the Texas Panhandle. We exist because there is a definite need to educate our youth and the community about the importance of sustainable living. From the outset, the boys at KB have been more than happy working hard to make recycling easy for you.

Since 2008 KB Recycling has grown to include 190 residents and 62 businesses in our recycling efforts. We have partnered with local schools West Texas A&M, St. Andrews Episcopal School, and Crocket Middle School as well as prominent Panhandle businesses such as Xcel Energy, the Panhandle Eye group and Tascosa Office Machines. Our Residential pick up service currently reaches from as far west as the Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport to the eastern Bushland area and we have clients from as far south as Canyon and Timber Creek all the way north towards Bishop Hills – and we are ready to expand!

At KB Recycling our goal has always been to promote a culture of sustainable living and educate the residents of our town about the importance of recycling. In accordance with this goal we have teamed up with organizations to recycle at community events such as youth soccer tournaments, the Man Cave, and Walk with the Mayor. Upcoming:

KB Recycling is a young company, but as attitudes change and environmental awareness increases we are consistently growing to meet that demand. At KB we are constantly working to expand our list of recyclables in order to reduce the amount of waste that makes it to the landfill. In the near future we expect to add glass pick up to our service as well as increase our capacity for aluminum, papers, plastics, and cardboard.

By the end of 2011 we would like to see at least half of Amarillo businesses and residents taking environmental action by recycling with KB. Furthermore, we are always looking for opportunities to expand towards the outlying panhandle areas and are in talks with several communities about extending our services to them.
